A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held yesterday to formally open the Riverside Bacolod Cancer Care Center (RBCCC), the first and only establishment of its kind in Bacolod City and Negros.
The facility, located at the rear of Riverside Medical Center, will be fully operational by February 2019.
RBCCC personnel will provide consultation, radiation therapy, brachytherapy, and survivorship counseling.
It is also home to the most advanced radiation therapy machine today, the Elektra Synergy with VMAT technology, which establishes new standards for radiation therapy, treatment speed, and dose reductions for patients.
Among those present for the event included Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Riverside Medical Center Inc. (RMCI) President and CEO Genesis Goldi D. Golingan, RMCI Director Andres M. Licaros, Jr., Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc. Corporate Development director Jose Noel C. De la Paz, among others.
Ahead of the opening, the facility’s social media page published messages for the public including “Hope is now here at home” and “Choose hope.”
They also published a blog post where they declared: “Let us fight the Big-C together!”/WDJ
