The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Silay City is presently investigating the fire incident that took place last Sunday at the city’s Doña Montserrat Lopez Memorial High School.
BFP arson investigator, Fire Officer 1 Melvin Juson, said, based on an probe, they suspect the blaze was caused by a faulty electrical circuit.
Juson said they are also looking into the possibility an appliance was left plugged-in and caused a short circuit.
He added, most of the electrical lines in the school were old.
Arson investigators are presently probing the electrical work to determine where the fire started.
They have already ruled out the possibility the fire caused deliberately.
Damage is estimated at P500,000.
Despite the damages, classes were unaffected./DGB, WDJ
