Over 700 Boracay workers, residents complete TESDA training

Following the shutdown of tourist destination Boracay earlier this year, which reopened last month, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) announced they would be providing free skills training to those affected by the closure. A total of 720 local workers and residents recently completed their training and were celebrated during an event last October 26, the reopening date, at the Barangay Manoc Manoc covered court.

TESDA Deputy Technical Education and Skills Development Operations Director-General Alvin Feliciano spoke during the event, alongside TESDA-Aklan Director Joel Villagracia and other local officials.

The graduates were trained in a variety of subjects include lifeguarding services, electrical installation and maintenance, housekeeping, security service, electronics products assembly and servicing, driving, cake making, bread making, carpentry, among others./WDJ
