Isabela Mayor Joselito Malabor yesterday denied reports indicating his home had been raided by police. The story stemmed from a text message that circulated last Tuesday claiming a raid was ordered on the mayor’s home.
“There was no such order,” the mayor affirmed. “There was no raid incident at the house in Isabela.”
The city official also has a residence in Bacolod City.
Malabor added, he does not know why a raid would be necessary.
“I have nothing to be afraid of,” he asserted.
The mayor, however, said such rumor may indicate “some things will be planted.”
He has since strengthened his personal security detail and stated, “Whatever I have in my possession, as far as security is concerned, are supported with documents.”
Meanwhile, the mayor is seeking reelection with his nephew, Provincial Board Member Renato Malabor, Jr., as his running mate./DGB, WDJ
