A car owned by the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chair for Barangay 3 drove into the stairs of the BAYS Center, located along San Juan Street in Bacolod City, yesterday afternoon,

Police identified the SK chair as Derrick Maravilla.

Based on initial investigations by Police Station 1 traffic investigators, Maravilla was attempting to park in front of the venue; however, instead of pressing the brakes, he stepped on the gas pedal, causing the vehicle to go forward and drive towards the stairs.

Maravilla emerged unscathed from the incident, but his car and a steel fence were damaged in the incident./DGB, WDJ
