Suspected shabu worth around P15,000 was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation at the VMC Compound in Barangay 18-A, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, police said.

The suspected illegal drugs contained in six sachets were confiscated from the 34-year-old Romel Alsado of Barangay 19, Victorias City.

Alsado – an OplanTokhang surrenderee – was arrested on Monday, said Victorias City police head Chief Inspector Eduardo Co.

Co said Alsado had been under police surveillance before the apprehension.

Drug paraphernalia, a mobile phone and P400 marked money were also recovered from Alsado, police said.

Alsado was brought to the Victorias City police station where he was detained.

He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./DGB, WDJ
