Motorcycle hits two students in Villamonte

Two students were injured after they were struck by a motorcycle yesterday morning along Circumferential Road in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.

Police identified the victims as 16-year-old Jan Marie Ecoy and 20-year-old Beamistry Salimbot, both residents of the Villa Angela Subdivision in the said barangay.

Based on eyewitness accounts, the victims were crossing the road when a motorcycle, driven by 35-year-old Allan Balderama, attempted to overtake another vehicle and struck the two.

Balderama claimed he did not notice the two until it was too late.

Both victims were immediately rushed to a hospital in Bacolod City.

Balderama was later taken into custody by Police Station 4 personnel.

Police are currently waiting for the victims to decide if they will file charges./DGB, WDJ
