A newly-identified drug suspect was arrested by Silay City police after he was caught using illegal drugs late Thursday evening at Sitio Barra in the city’s Barangay Mambulac.

Police identified the suspect as 27-year-old Jerecho Daquiado, a resident of the said barangay.

Silay City police chief, Police Superintendent Noel Polines, said they were conducting an anti-criminality operation in the area when they spotted Daquiado attempting to sniff suspected shabu in the area during a buy-bust operation.

Police moved in and arrested Daquiado on the spot.

A search revealed a total of 24 sachets of suspected shabu, valued at P30,000; along with drug paraphernalia and P150 in marked money.

Daquiado faces illegal drugs charges and is detained at the Silay City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
