Megaworld continues to grow award-winning, world-class development in Visayas

Iloilo is heading towards a progressive future with so many reasons to prove why the ‘City of Love’ is one of the country’s must-visit, must-experience destinations today.

A huge part of this growing equity is rooted on real estate giant Megaworld’s efforts in redefining the city as a world-class hub through the 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park—the company’s multi-awarded township development in Western Visayas.

Property Guru recently recognized Iloilo Business Park as the “Best Township Development” during the prestigious 2018 Philippines Property Awards. The award was one of the historic feats for the company, which was made even bigger when it won the “Best Developer of the Year” award that same night—its third in as many years—along with four more overall winner and three highly-commended awards.

Aside from Best Township Development award, Iloilo Business Park also received a “Highly-Commended” award in Best Retail Architectural Design for Festive Walk Mall.

Growth through livability and sustainability

The judges cited Iloilo Business Park’s appeal as an aesthetically pleasing, sustainable, and environment-friendly township development, with its distinct urban architecture blending in with the historical grandeur of the province.

The same award-giving body also honored Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, the first edifice to rise at Iloilo Business Park, with the “Best Hotel Interior Design” award in 2015. Courtyard by Marriott, another prestigious hotel development by Alliance Global Group, Inc. (AGI) subsidiary Travellers International Hotels Group, also won a Highly-Commended Best Hotel Development award and another Highly-Commended Hotel Interior Design recognition in 2016.

Aside from the awards, the township also brings world-class office towers to the province.                                                                                                                       Seven BPO companies are now occupying the five existing office towers within the township, collectively catering to more than 15,000 BPO workers at present. The nine-hectare commercial district at IBP will also become the home of the regional headquarters of some of the country’s leading financial institutions, like the UnionBank of the Philippines and Metrobank.
Flourishing Live-Work-Play concept

Iloilo Business Park carries the company’s signature live-work-play lifestyle concept within its very DNA.

Currently, the township is selling its seventh residential tower, Saint Dominique, which is a fitting follow up to the success of One Madison Place, Lafayette Park Square, The Palladium, Saint Honore, and Saint Dominique—all of which have been sold out in just a matter of months right after being launched.

Meetings, incentives, conferencing, and exhibition (MICE) events set in Iloilo have also found a home at the 1.7-hectare Iloilo Convention Center (ICC), which is dubbed as the biggest convention center in Western Visayas.

There’s also the 1.1-kilometer Festive Walk Parade where tourists and locals alike can enjoy a wide array of homegrown restaurants offering top-notch dining services. The area has also become the center of nightlife and entertainment in Iloilo with the introduction of the ‘Festive Nights’ event, a series of weekend night street parties featuring a dynamic fusion of food, music, arts, and entertainment.

Another centerpiece in the township is the newly opened Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA), where people can find paintings, sculptures, and installations from acclaimed local and international artists. ILOMOCA is housed inside the iconic Casa de Emperador building, which is also adorned by the bronze statue of local hero, General Martin Delgado.

Iloilo Business Park also prides itself in being a bike-friendly township by introducing Bambikes (bamboo bikes) in the province. The township flaunts wide bike lanes and is home to the annual “Bike Festival” in Iloilo where thousands of locals converge to promote their passion for bikes and the cycling lifestyle.

From heritage to food, to the arts, culture, and hospitality, all of these are just some of the reasons that highlight Iloilo Business Park’s reputation as the best township on this part of the archipelago. (PR)
