Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) affirmed the evaluation by Negros Occidental Commission on Elections (Comelec) election supervisor, Atty. Jessie Suarez, indicating the recent barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in Negros Occidental were peaceful.
PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Chief Inspector Joem Malong, said aside from voters unable to find their names, they are actively investigating allegations of vote buying in Barangay Robles, La Castellana.
Malong also confirmed there was an incident of “barricading” in Cauayan. However, after police visited the area to investigate, it was determined the closure was not election-related.
Earlier, PRO-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, reported there were no major incidents during the conduct of the polls./DGB, WDJ
