With the recent closure of resort destination Boracay, the Social Security System (SSS) announced they would be offering loans for member-borrowers affected by the development.
“We would like to show our dear members that SSS is there whenever they need help,” said SSS Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc.
Eligible recipients may borrow between P1,000 and P16,000. The loan is payable over 32 months, with monthly amortization beginning in the ninth month.
“When the loan application is approved, the generated emergency loan checks may be picked up by the member within 10 working days at the SSS branch office where the application was filed,” Dooc explained.
Loan applications became available last Wednesday. Those interested can submit applications until October 31.
SSS has already allocated P111.61 to fund the loan program./WDJ
