A suspected murderer was arrested by police late Tuesday evening after a warrant was issued against him at Sitio Road Crusher in Barangay 4, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified the suspect as 26-year-old Roslyn Gutierrez, a resident of the said area.
Himamaylan City police chief, Police Chief Inspector Antonio Benitez, Jr., said Gutierrez was arrested through Oplan: Lambat Sibat, which targets individuals with pending arrest warrants.
Gutierrez’s warrant was issued by Judge Walter Zorilla of the Himamaylan City Regional Trial Court-Branch 55 on March 12, 2018 for the crime of murder with no bail recommended.
During the arrest, Benitez noted the suspect was drinking inside the home owned by his aunt.
Upon searching Gutierrez, they recovered a .38 caliber revolver.
Aside from the murder charge, Gutierrez could further face charges of illegal possession of firearms as he failed to produce any pertinent documents for the revolver./DGB, WDJ
