Gelvolea: Hospital officers report no delayed salary complaints

The Negros Occidental provincial government promised to update and hasten the release of salaries for casual employees, particularly those assigned to district hospitals.
Acting Negros Occidental Provincial Administrator, Dr. Lucille Gelvolea, said the commitment comes after recent meeting with administrative officers of the district hospitals, along with provincial human resource officer. Atty. Anabelle Palic.
This meeting comes on the heels of an order by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. in response to complaints by some district hospital casual employees claiming their salaries were delayed.
“When I asked the [administrative officers] if any of their casual [employees] complained of delayed salaries, they answered in the negative,” Gelvolea said.
She suspects the complaints came from “the ones who lack supporting documents or submitted them late.”
During the meeting, they agreed to solve the problem by requiring the casual workers to submit required documents by May and June, in time for the July contract renewals.
According to the provincial government official, this will provide ample time to process documents, such as certified copies of nursing licenses and tax identification numbers./DGB, WDJ
