Governor calls populace to reflect, pray
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. yesterday called on local residents to reflect and pray during the observance of Holy Week, which begins on Palm Sunday, March 25.
He said it is best not to use the Holy Week break by enjoying too much and drinking.
“It is a holy week,” Marañon stressed. “It’s a time when people are supposed to reflect and change bad behavior.”
When asked about the recent passage of the divorce bill in the House of Representatives, Marañon openly opposed the proposal and said he prays the Senate will block the proposal./DGB, WDJ
