The son of a Barangay 30 kagawad was arrested Monday afternoon, following a drug bust operation conducted by operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) in Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.

Police identified the suspect as George Michael Adeva, the son of Barangay Kagawad Linda Adeva.

CDEU team leader, Police Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, said they have been monitoring Adeva for weeks after moving in on a home occupied by his wife’s grandmother.

Albaytar said they recovered three big sachets of suspected shabu worth P225,000 from the suspect.

He added, despite the suspect being a newly-identified drug target, he is suspected to be a member of a big drug group operating in Bacolod City.

Adeva, meanwhile, denied possessing the recovered illegal drugs, claiming CDEU operatives broke into the house and planted the drugs.

However, he did admit to using illegal drugs in the past, but claimed he stopped after his wife repeatedly urged him to stop.

Adeva is facing illegal drugs charges./DGB, WDJ
