Bacolod City kicked off their observance of World Radio Day last Monday with an opening ceremony at SM City Bacolod.
“We would like to look back how radio, along with the 80 years of evolution in the history of Bacolod City, has helped in distributing, communicating, educating, enlightening, exposing, and choosing information to all Bacolodnons and Negrenses,” said Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas (KBP) Negros Occidental chair Serafin Plotria, Jr., who spoke during the opening ceremonies.
Opening day events began with a motorcade at the Bacolod Public Plaza, with 18 AM and FM radio stations participating, that made its way to SM City Bacolod, where an exhibit on the history and development of the radio industry in Bacolod City opened along the northwest bridgeway.
The exhibit will run until Saturday, February 24./WDJ
