During a ceremony last week at the Nature’s Village Resort in Talisay City, the four winners of the 2018 Outstanding Talisaynon Awards in a variety of fields were named.

Former Negros Occidental Provincial Governor Rafael Coscolluela was recognized for government service and education reform; Kalipay Negrense Foundation, Inc. founder Anna C. Balcells was recognized for commitment to social development; the Rescue and Disaster Assistance Network, Inc. (Radiant) was awarded for volunteer work and disaster assistance; and Hernan R. Lopez, Jr. was posthumously awarded for real estate development.

Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III gave out the awards, calling the ceremony, “A celebration of concern for others, passion for service, and development and persistence to make Talisay City and the world a better place.”

“You exemplify excellence in service that we and the rest of Talisay City should emulate,” he said to the recipients./WDJ
