A member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was killed after being shot by unidentified gunmen at Crossing Balea in Barangay Laga-an, Calatrava, Negros Occidental, yesterday.

Police identified the fatality as 27-year-old Raul Ugdiman, a resident of Sitio Macapula, Barangay Dolis in the said town.

Calatrava deputy police chief, Police Senior Inspector Roger Pama, said they learned of the incident after the victim was involved in a road accident, in which his motorcycle collided to two other motorcycles.

Pama said they rushed Ugdiman to the nearest hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival due to a gunshot wound sustained towards his back.

Law enforcement officials said they have yet to determine where exactly the victim was shot, as there were no available witnesses in the area.
