A fire that struck the Nami Resort in Boracay late Wednesday night resulted in at least P20 million in damages.
According to Malay Fire Marshal, Fire Senior Inspector Lorna Parcellano, the local Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) received a fire call around 10:20 p.m., with a fire out declared by 1:00 a.m. No injuries were reported.
She noted, nearly all 15 rooms of the resort located near Diniwid Beach were destroyed.
Fire trucks were unable to access the property due to a small walkway. Firefighters were forced to drag their hoses across other resorts in order to battle the fire.
BFP-Malay is still conducting investigation into the source of the fire./WDJ
