Between P450,000 and P500,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) following a buy-bust operation at Camia-Marapara Streets in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City, late Friday evening.
Police identified the suspects as 25-year-old Carla Umadhay, a resident of Barangay 27 in the said city; and her runner, 44-year-old Romeo Gumban.
CDEU leader, Police Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, said they confiscated five big and 11 elongated sachets of shabu from Umadhay, who had been under police surveillance three months prior to the bust.
He pointed out, based on data from the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), one big sachet of shabu is valued between P60,000 and P70,000.
Umadhay, meanwhile, denied owning or selling the illegal drugs and accused CDEU operatives of planting the illicit substances.
Albaytar denied the allegations.
The two suspects are presently detained at Police Station 4 and are facing illegal drugs charges./JJA, WDJ
