The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently passed a resolution urging Department of Education-Bacolod (DepEd-Bacolod) Schools Division Superintendent Cynthia Demavivas to implement the “Oplan Kalusugan (OK) sa DepEd Program.”
The resolution, penned by City Councilor Sonya Verdeflor, quoted DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones, who described the program as “a converging effort where health plans, policies, programs, and activities are implemented to ensure that all school children are provided with basic primary health and dental care.”
According to the cabinet secretary, by fulfilling such health criteria, students can achieve their full educational potential.
The program is set to be fully implemented in July, effective for the 2018-2019 academic year./NC, WDJ
