Lacson: LGUs must always look to increase revenue
By Dominique Gabriel G. Bañaga
The Negros Occidental provincial government is considering a public-private partnership (PPP) for the planned renovation of the Provincial Administration Center (PAC).
According to Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, while the Provincial Board has already approved a budget for the project, he called a PPP “an avenue where the provincial government can partner with the private sector.”
“Another proposal is that a private sector group can finance the renovation, in exchange for the use of the commercial spaces,” he added.
Under the PPP proposal, the PAC will be replaced by a high-rise building, with the first two floors reserved for commercial space, and the rest to be occupied by provincial government offices.
Lacson added, the national government always reminds local government units to increase revenue./DGB, WDJ
