A 49-year-old man from Bacolod City was gunned down by two unidentified suspects early yesterday morning along Rizal Street in Barangay Pilar, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the fatality as Jonie Noli, a resident of Purok Magnolia in Barangay 7, Bacolod City.

Hinigaran municipal police said Noli, along with his wife Hazel, were traveling along the national highway in their tricycle bound for Bacolod City, when they noticed a motorcycle tailing them.

One of the individuals aboard the motorcycle shot Noli, striking him twice in the torso.

The gunmen drove off after the shooting, while Noli was rushed to the town’s emergency clinic. where he was declared dead on arrival by medical staff.

Hinigaran municipal police are presently probing the incident./JJA, WDJ
