Coronation night for the 2018 Miss Iloilo Dinagyang crown takes place tonight, January 20, at the University of San Agustin gym.

“We are so excited to let our guests experience and witness a grandiose production number,” said Miss Dinagyang Executive Director Alex Soncio. “Miss Iloilo Dinagyang is much different compared to what I have directed in the past.

The judging panel includes a mix of prominent names in the pageant world, including Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Miss Universe-Philippines 2017 Rachel Peters, Miss Universe-Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup-Lee, Miss Universe-Philippines 2016 Maxine Medina; along with ‘King of the Catwalk’ Sinon Loresca and Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Winner Maureen Wroblewitz; among others.

Tata Villaruel will sing the national anthem, while the Tumandok group will perform popular Ilonggo folk songs with last year’s Ati tribe champion Tribu Salognon of Jaro National High School.

This year’s pageant was launched last November at SM City Southpoint.

Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III said at the time, “A lot of people come to Iloilo City to witness, not only the performances of different tribes during the Dinagyang Festival but, Miss Iloilo Dinagyang.”/PLL, WDJ
