A pedestrian was shot dead by an unidentified gunman while walking along CL Ledesma Street in Barangay 1, San Carlos City, yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as 27-year-old Junbert Calumba, a resident of the Newtown Subdivision in the said barangay.

Initial investigations by San Carlos City police said Calumba was walking along the said street when the unidentified suspect ambushed the victim and shot him with a .45 caliber pistol.

The gunman immediately fled the crime scene, while bystanders rushed Calumba to the city’s district hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

San Carlos police have yet to determine the identity of the suspect and are still probing for a motive behind the incident./DGB, WDJ
