A mother of nine was arrested by police on Sunday afternoon after conducting a buy-bust operation at Purok Cagaycay in Barangay 2, Bacolod City.
Police identified the suspect as 51-year-old Dioscoro Carmelotes, a native of Calatrava, Negros Occidental and resident of the said barangay.
Police Station 2 (PS2) commander, Police Chief Inspector Benedicto Villarias, Jr., said they nabbed Carmelotes after she handed one sachet of suspected shabu in exchange for P500.
A search later yielded five more sachets of suspected shabu, with an estimated value of P7,000; along with suspected drug proceeds amounting to P310.
When interviewed yesterday morning, Dioscoro admitted to selling illegal drugs, claiming she earns P600 a day from the illicit business.
Dioscoro is presently detained at PS2 and faces illegal drugs charges./DGB, WDJ
