Two dead, four hurt in Kabankalan City collision

Two were killed, while four others were injured, after a truck and a tricycle collided in Barangay Camingawan, Kabankalan City yesterday.
The victims were all residents of Barangay Taloc in Bago City. The fatalities were identified as 35-year-old Cecilia Villaruel and four-year-old Blessed Lines Santillana; while Leni Santillana, Leopoldo Santillana, Alexander Santillana, and tricycle driver Dominador Villaruel were injured.
Kabankalan City Police Station deputy chief, Police Senior Inspector Edgar Tonico, said the victims were riding a tricycle from Bayawan, Negros Oriental, where they attended a relative’s birthday party when a truck, driven by 59-year-old Camilo Margallo, struck their vehicle.
Margallo has since surrendered voluntarily to police./NC, WDJ
