Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) director, Police Chief Superintendent Cesar Hawthorne Binag, said the pay hikes for members of law enforcement, recently signed by President Rodrigo Duterte, will reduce the number of incidents involving police officers engaged in illegal activity.
“With the high amount of salary they have, I don’t know if they would still engage in illegal activities,” he insisted.
According to Binag, the standard pay for a Police Officer 1 (PO1) increased to P29,000.
However, the PRO-6 director said he would not hesitate dismissing erring cops if they engage in illegal activity./DGB, WDJ
