Motorist dies in San Enrique road rage incident

A man was killed following an altercation at the corner of Garcia-Candelaria Streets at Sitio Ubos in Barangay Poblacion, San Enrique, Negros Occidental on Monday.
The fatality was identified as 37-year-old Benjie Eslabon, a resident of Crossing Guimoy, Barangay Tabao Baybay of the said municipality.
Initial police investigations showed the Toyota Avanza, driven by 29-year-old Genesis Romo, was hit by Eslabon’s Hyundai Accent.
Eslabon attempted to flee the scene, but Romo gave chase.
Once Romo caught up with Eslabon, both drivers exited their vehicles and engaged in an argument, which led to a fistfight.
Eslabon was struck on his head and fell to a concrete pavement.
He was rushed to Valladolid District Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Romo, meanwhile, is currently detained in the custodial facility of the San Enrique Municipal Police Station./NC, WDJ
