During a recent meeting of information officers in Bacolod City, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Senior Research Specialist Randy Bolves called on the public to trade in loose coins for paper bills, calling it a part of the BSP coin recirculation program.

“The BSP-Bacolod, through its economics and financial learning center division, can exchange your loose coins, or small denomination in value, into paper banknotes,” he said.

Bolves added, the BSP is also conducting lectures on basic savings, coin recirculation, clean note policy, and basic security features of banknotes.

He also reminded the public that old design banknotes, which were released in 1985, will only be accepted for exchange until December 29 at 2:00 p.m./WDJ
