The 24-year-old motorcyclist involved in a vehicular accident, resulting in his motorcycle catching fire, died Sunday night.

Alex Arcanghel of Purok San Antonio in Barangay Sum-ag was initially reported as injured following the incident that occurred along Araneta Street in Barangay Pahanocoy, Bacolod City.

Traffic Management Unit traffic accident investigator, Police Officer 1 Roland Abong, said Arcanghel was heading north, operating against the flow of traffic, and slammed into a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Jomer Arevalo.

Abong said the victim later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Arevalo has since been freed after being detained at Police Station 8 (PS8) after the reglementary period lapsed./NC, WDJ
