The Philippine national softball team, which includes several Domingo Lacson National High School (DLNHS) students, finished second place last week in the 2017 Pacific School Games at the Adelaide Shores Sports Complex in Adelaide, Australia.
The team lost 10-0 to New South Wales in the finals, a team the Philippines defeated last week.
“What surprised us was their top pitcher,” said coach Roselle Hulleza. “They didn’t use [her] against us in our initial meeting.”
The team members from DLNHS, namely Neo May Mahinay, Mary Joy Maguad, Chastene Jover, April Rose Gonzales, Glecilyn Alipato, Mea Tubongbanua, Angela Solidarios, and Glory Alonzo, are scheduled to return tomorrow, December 13; they begin their 2017 Palarong Panlalawigan campaign the following day, December 14.
“Our game schedules were adjusted to December 14,” Hulleza noted./JSG, WDJ
