Three police officers were wounded following an attack conducted by the New People’s Army (NPA) in Antique, yesterday.

The injured officers were identified as Police Officers 3 (PO3) Gabby Orantes, Michael Alejo, and Salvador Cordero.

According to Philippine Army 301st Infantry Brigade (301 IB) commander, Colonel Pio Diñoso, a detachment of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was under attack in Sibalom.

The injured were part of a response team whose vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device (IED).

Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) spokesperson, Police Superintendent Gilbert Gorero, noted two of the three remain in the hospital./WDJ
