Mary Eve Adeline Escoto of Guimaras was crowned the first Miss Asia Global 2017 earlier this week during the Miss Asia 2017 pageant at the Gokulam Park Hotel and Convention Centre in Kochi, India.

Prior to her win, she earlier participated in Miss Iloilo Dinagyang 2017 and Mutya ng Guimaras 2017, and was crowned Miss Asia Philippines last month in Dumaguete City.

Before leaving for India, Escoto was joined by Department of Tourism-Region VI (DOT-6) Director Helen Catalbas for a send-off luncheon.

“Her representation in Miss Asia 2017 could be a good venue for promotions of what our country, as a whole, and our region has to offer to the international tourism market,” the DOT official noted.

Meanwhile, Miss China Honey Tian Mi was crowned Miss Asia 2017, succeeding Miss Asia 2016 Trixia Maria Marana of Dumaguete City./PLL, WDJ
