A 52-year-old Murcia resident was killed after being repeatedly shot by riding-in-tandem suspects yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Efraem Talaban, a resident of Barangay Damsite.

Based on a statement given by Talaban’s wife, the victim was sitting outside their sari-sari store when two unidentified individuals arrived on a motorcycle and shot Talaban multiple times.

The suspects immediately fled after the shooting, while Talaban was rushed to the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center (BAMC) for treatment.

Talaban, however, succumbed to his gunshot wounds while receiving treatment.

The victim’s wife stressed her husband did not have enemies nor received death threats.

She added, her husband worked as a paravet and was active in irrigation works in the said barangay.
