A tricycle driver was shot dead during a dance at Purok Villa Villeta, Barangay Estefania in Bacolod City, yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 25-year-old Ryan Tajanlangit, a resident of Purok Malvar-Cubay, Barangay Villamonte in the said city.
Police Station 4 (PS4) lead investigator, Senior Police Officer 1 (SPO1) Jared Esquilla, said, around 2:45 a.m., the victim was dancing at an event with several people when the suspect, identified only as ‘To May Gamay’ of Barangay Vista Alegre, shot Tajanlangit with a .38 caliber revolver.
When Tajanlangit fell to the ground, Esquilla said witnesses saw several unidentified men, presumed to be associates of the suspect, slam a beer bottle on Tajanlangit’s head before fleeing towards an unknown direction.
The victim was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) for treatment, although he later succumbed to his wounds two hours after the incident.
Esquilla added, they are currently looking at an angle of revenge as a motive behind Tajanlangit’s killing, and are presently conducting a follow-up operation for the suspects’  arrest./DGB, WDJ
