2017 Negros International Open Chess Championship

Filipino Grand Master (GM) Rogelio Antonio remains on top in the ongoing 2017 Negros International Open Chess Championship at the Osbron Hall of Ikthus Equipping Center following his fifth round draw with GM Nigel Short of England.

Other results include draws between GM Duc Hoa Nguyen of Vietnam and GM Srinath Narayanan of India, along with National Master (NM) Emanuel Emperado and International Master (IM) Roland Dableo.

Meanwhile, Edsel Montoya defeated Ellan Asuela and GM Karen Grigoryan of Armenia beat Fédération Internationale des Échecs (FIDE) Master Roel Abelgas./JSG, WDJ
