Former soldier gunned down in Murcia

A man believed to be a former Philippine Army soldier was killed after being shot by riding-in-tandem suspects at Purok Kalubihan, Barangay Amayco, Murcia, yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 45-year-old Benito Miparon, a resident of the said barangay.
Murcia municipal police chief, Police Senior Inspector Ronald Santillan, said Miparon, along with his wife, were aboard a motorcycle when they were fired upon by riding-in-tandem suspects with a .45 caliber pistol.
Miparon was killed immediately after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds across his body.
Cops also recovered six empty .45 caliber shells from the crime scene.
Santillan added police are now probing the incident./WDJ
