During the recent opening of the 2017 Aklan Green Product Expo at SM City Iloilo, Department of Trade and Industry-Region VI (DTI-6) Director Rebecca Rascon lauded small businesses in Negros Occidental and Aklan for promoting a green industry.
“In this part of the country, there’s green economic development,” she said.
Rascon pointed out, Negros Occidental has become known for products made from organic agriculture; while eco-friendly products from Aklan have made their way overseas, with items made from piña fibers being exported to the United States, Canada, along with wigs that are sent to countries in Africa.
