The Iloilo City Youth Development Division (CYDD), in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government-Region VI (DILG-6) and the Liga ng mga Barangay (Liga), plan to hold a Disaster Resiliency Camp in Iloilo City, scheduled for October and December.

The three-day activity is intended to educate youth on being prepared for calamities.
According to CYDD head Jason Gregorio, camp participants are also expected to join the Kahublagan sa Barangay para sa Lapnagon nga Kahandaan sa Kalamidad (Kabalaka), an advocacy group geared towards disaster preparedness.
“We consider them the most vulnerable and empowered sector of society,” he said.
Speakers from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the Iloilo City Emergency Response Team (ICER), and the Philippine Red Cross are expected to take part in the camp.
Organizers expect around 300 participants for each camp./WDJ
