A proposal from bingo operator Negrense Entertainment Gallery, Inc. to Himamaylan City Mayor Agustin Bascon, expressing a desire to begin electronic bingo operations and other games into the city, was met with opposition by Himamaylan City Councilor Justin Gatuslao.
The company claimed, by allowing operations, their business would both raise revenue for the city government and create jobs for residents. However, the city councilor claimed gaming operations would “bring more hardship and uncertainty.”
Prior to planned deliberations before the city council, Gatuslao already announced his intention to vote against the measure.
Meanwhile, the company also submitted a request for a “resolution of no objection,” a requirement before the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) provides a license to operate./WDJ
