According to the Iloilo City Tourism and Development Office (CTDO), the number of domestic tourist arrivals rose in the first quarter of 2017 as compared to the same period last year.

Based on recent data, there were 263,865 domestic tourists that visited Iloilo City in the first three months of 2017, up from the 238,865 recorded between January and March of last year.

CTDO head Junel Ann Divinagracia credited the boost to the Dinagyang and Paraw Regatta festivals, which take place in January and February, respectively./WDJ
