After suffering a 4-0 loss in the first leg of the 2017 AFC Cup inter-zone play-off semifinal against Istiklol FC of Tajikistan, Ceres-Negros FC faces an uphill battle in the upcoming second leg, scheduled for Tuesday, September 12, at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
However, former Kaya FC and Union Football Club-Manila coach Maor Rozen said, “Everything is possible for Ceres FC.”
“We see how Istiklol played a high level of football back in Tajikistan, in front of their home fans,” he explained. “The home crowd will play a major role in this possible turnaround.”
In terms of the accomplishments the Negrense club has achieved, Rozen said, “It’s great progress for football, where it’s not the top sport in the Philippines.”/JSG, WDJ
