Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. recently signed a memorandum of agreement and provided a conditional deed offering the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) and Department of Health (DOH) lots in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Santa Barbara, Iloilo to construct regional offices.
“The establishment of appropriate regional offices will improve and strengthen the capability, availability, and efficiencies of these agencies,” said the governor.
DOH secretary, Dr. Paulyn Ubial, who visited the region recently, and PhilHealth Regional Vice President Lourdes Diocson expressed their gratitude for the land.
“This will not only benefit Ilonggos, but the whole Western Visayas,” said Diocson.
The memorandum was made possible following a resolution passed by the Iloilo Provincial Board back in June of this year./WDJ
