After reportedly receiving complaints from judges and lawyers regarding the Hall of Justice being guarded by utility men and janitors, the Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) passed a resolution directing the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) or the city’s Public Order and Safety Office (POSO) to deploy officers to guard the building.
“It is very important the Hall of Justice is always guarded,” said City Councilor Caesar Distrito, who authored the resolution. “Some of the cases being heard inside are high-profile and highly dangerous.”
He also noted, the contract between the justice department and the security agency they were utilizing recently expired, resulting in security guards being removed from the premises./WDJ
