Market supervisor wounded in Bais City shooting

A Bais City market supervisor was wounded following a shooting incident at Sitio San Jose, Barangay II, Bais City, Wednesday morning.
Police identified the victim as 58-year-old Marissa Silva, a resident of Barangay Looc in the said city.
According to police, Marissa was riding a motorcycle driven by her husband, 57-year-old Leonardo Silva, when they were followed and shot three times by two unidentified suspects aboard another motorcycle.
Marissa was hit on her left arm, thigh, and leg; while her husband emerged unscathed.
The victim was immediately brought to the Bais City District Hospital, but was later referred to the Silliman University Medical Center in Dumaguete City for further treatment.
Recovered from the crime scene were three fired shells and a deformed slug from a .45 caliber firearm, along with the victims’ motorcycle.
The shooting incident is being considered a frustrated murder case with the motive still being probed by Bais City police./WDJ
