A total three individuals were victimized in two separate robbery incidents in Barangays Villamonte and Sum-ag, Bacolod City over the weekend.
According to police, the first robbery took place in Purok Bayanihan, Barangay Villamonte, where 53-year-old Lucia Pingki-an, a resident of the said purok, was victimized by two assailants, identified by witnesses as Ariel Jubagat and Omar Dirindugon.
Among the stolen items were a mobile phone, P14,000 worth of coins, a black pouch containing around P600, and P1,000 worth of store goods.
The second case resulted in the beating and robbery of 26-year-old Gerald Casipong of Isabela, Negros Occidental; and 57-year-old Eduardo Nuena, a resident of Purok Gracia Larson Extension, Barangay Singcang-Airport, in Purok Masagana, Barangay Sum-ag.
According to police, four unidentified suspects robbed and physically assaulted the two men, with Casipong sustaining a head injury from being struck by a sledgehammer and Nuena suffering an injury to his jaw and clavicle after being struck by a wrench.
Stolen from the two were P18,000 in cash, a watch, and three mobile phones.
Police are currently conducting a hot pursuit operation against the suspects./WDJ
