Kabankalan City Mayor Isidro Zayco announced his intentions to retire after the end of his term in 2019.
Zayco, who previously served as Negros Occidental governor, said, “My 31 years in politics is already enough.”
The mayor added he is “not getting any younger.”
Zayco was first elected mayor in 1987 and later elected vice governor. He assumed the governorship following the death of then-Governor Joseph Marañon in 2008.
