Bacolod City Water District (Baciwa) General Manager Mario Macatangay declared he will no longer file a motion for reconsideration in relation to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) order reinstating Atty. Juliana Carbon as general manager.
In a radio interview yesterday, Macatangay said he already consulted his legal team on the matter as he has no idea what will happen to him after Carbon is reinstated.
However, the current general manager noted his readiness to step down from the post.
In the CSC decision last year, Carbon was reinstated as general manager after she filed a constructive dismissal case, when an employee is forced to resign following an event such as a demotion or discrimination, claiming she was subject to “illegal suspension.”
The agency also awarded her back pay for the time she was dismissed, along with affirming the appointment of Macatangay as “illegal.”
The order also noted, with his appointment revoked, an oversight by Baciwa prevents Macatangay from returning to his previous post with the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA)./WDJ
