Talisay City recognizes blood donors

Dr. Mark Belonio of Negros First Blood Center discussed the importance of donating blood and encouraged barangay health workers to recruit and retain more blood donors.

The Talisay City government honored “Blood Galloners,” blood donors who have donated on ten occasions or a total 4,000cc of blood, yesterday at the Talisay Public Plaza.
A total of 78 city residents were recognized in a ceremony, where they were each awarded a certificate of appreciation.
Organizers hoped the recognition serves as an inspiration for others.
Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III, through the City Health Office, expressed his gratitude to the donors, saying numerous patients owe their lives to these “heroes.”
